Police launch SIM vendor verification drive in Awantipora | KNO

Srinagar, Sep 10 (KNO): As a part of its ongoing effort to curb the rising instances of fraud and to prevent misuse of mobile phone SIMs, police in Awantipora, headed by SDPO Awantipora Raja Majid along with SHO PS Awantipora Inspector Ajaz Hmad, on Wednesday launched a verification drive on SIM card vendors under the jurisdiction of Police Station Awantipora. The drive, as per an official statement issued to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), aims to verify the authenticity of documents submitted by subscribers and to ensure that SIM vendors are adhering to the guidelines set by the government and to ensure that their SIM connections are verified. Police requested the public to report any suspicious activities or irregularities concerning SIM card sales or usage. This collaborative effort aims to enhance the security and safety of the citizens—(KNO)
